August Tweetup

A big thanks to everyone who joined in at our August Informal Drinks tweetup. Considering that there were several amongst us who’ve only just started tweeting and most of us didn’t know each other, the fact that 10 of us managed to organise a tweetup and find each other in a busy bar is quite an achievement!

London Fashion Tweet August event

In this shot are Jen from Ruby Browning, Ehsan of Wise Marketing, Misae of Minxy’s Jewellery, Xosefa of DirectCost4, Anneke of Royal London and freelance photographer Julia.

Over a couple of glasses of wine we got to know a bit about each other and share some ideas on where we want to go to. It’ll be really nice watching everyone move towards their goals as the group progresses.

We’ll put out a date for out September tweetup shortly and look forward to resuming the conversation then!

August Informal Drinks

It wouldn’t be a proper Summer if we don’t take the chance for a few after work drinks! As it’s our first meetup, this will just be an informal tweetup so we can get to know one another. Just bring yourself, a whole bunch of smiles and tweet about it!

The hashtag: #lftdrinks

If we all tweet using that hashtag, we can find each other online and start connecting. Personally, I’m already looking for fashion bloggers to connect with, new suppliers for certain fashion accessories and collaborators so it’ll be great to see you there!

Please RSVP via meetup

Katie Eary launches new collection funded by Catwalk Genius

Catwalk Genius is a new way of helping fashion designers get started. Fans are invited to buy shares in new collections and when sufficient funds are gathered, the fashion designer goes ahead and makes the new collection.

First off is Katie Eary, a London based blonde bombshell who’s fans include Kate Moss, Lady Gaga and Sienna Miller.

The official Press Release from Catwalk Genius is at http://blog.catwalkgenius.com/2010/07/08/first-collection-funded. You’ll also see my review of Katie Eary’s launch party on thenextwomen.com shortly. May it be the first of many launch parties!

Day or Night – What’s Your Choice?

I just want to get a quick feel for people’s availability to schedule our get together. It’ll be informal networking; a chance to get to know one another, find our backgrounds and see how we can collaborate. We could do one of two things:

  1. Meet up in the day time at an amenable coffee shop or similar
  2. Meet up after work at a bar

In either case, we’ll do it in central London so it’s as equally easy (or inconvenient!) for everyone. So please chip in, do you prefer to meet in the daytime or after work?
